A misty array of purple and orange.
With glittering eyes soon to arrive.
The golden face is slowly entering its cove.
The chorus of crickets soon to revive.

The shadow of Luna is beginning to show.
With sights of little birds heading towards home.
The lights of our world are about to ignite.
The brave nocturnal getting ready to roam.

The purple and orange are soon to fade.
With remnants of darkness ready to overtake.
The poems of children are soon to be read.
Followed by prayers to keep them all brave.

We’ve seen this time often enough.
A sore sight that still glistens in our eyes.
We share its moment of true tranquility.
As we give each day our final goodbyes.
